Psi Chi Honor Society
Psi Chi, the International Honor Society in Psychology, was founded in 1929 for the purposes of encouraging excellence in scholarship and advancing the science of psychology.
Psi Chi is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies and functions as a federation of chapters located at about 1,200 colleges and universities throughout the world.
Students become members by joining the chapter at the university where they are enrolled. Our local chapter was installed in May 1969 and has remained an active organization at the Â鶹´«Ã½ since.
Membership Requirements:
- Top 35% of your class in terms of overall grade point average (typically, overall GPA of 3.60 and higher)
- Completion of at least 15 credits in psychology (not equivalent courses), including Statistics in the Behavioral Sciences or Research Methods & Analysis I
- An average grade of B+ or better in all psychology courses (3.33 or higher Psych GPA)
- A declared major or minor in Psychology
- Enrolled at the Â鶹´«Ã½
- High standards of personal behavior
- Endorsement by a full-time psychology faculty member
All qualified Psychology majors and minors will receive in early October an emailed invitation to join.
